Pendleton update

We have been keeping plenty busy these last few weeks. Lots of fun festivals, parks and school activities have been keeping us on the go! Olivia is loving Jazz dance class! She said she didn't like tap. I'm glad she has found something she enjoys! She is talking about playing softball in the spring! Oh and she wants to be a cheerleader. That is her latest interest!
She is doing good so far in school (from what she tells me.) we'll just have to wait and see what her teacher says at conference time in a few weeks! ;) She recently got her hair all chopped off! She originally went in for a trim and didn't want to leave until her hair came off. She said she was tired of it long. It looks cute. I do miss her long hair though! ;)
She is starting to spell out words and she writes the alphabet in order now. She still LOVES playing with Barbies. She's still not into baby dolls. She would rather play with stuffed animals as her "babies" she LOVES reading and sometimes you will find her curled up in her bed just reading away! :)
Channing is going through a phase where he will say his "tummy hurts' just to get out of doing things. At first, I was concerned thinking something was wrong but when I realized he was telling me this more when I ask him to do something, I knew.. such as asking him to eat his food, take a drink or clean his room his tummy all of a sudden aches. If you ask him if he wants ice cream, then he's better! lol! He plays really well with Gavin during the day. I try to get them out around other kiddos to socialize as much as possible. He will be going to preschool next year and I'm so glad we never got that call back for him to go this year. I'm just not ready to send him quite yet! He's starting to wear 4T in shirts! He's getting pretty tall. 44 inches the last time we were at the Dr.
He LOVES the outdoors and playing in dirt. He hasn't parted with his McDonald's happy meal Lego car since he got it a few weeks back so I'm thinking this year Santa might bring him some Lego's. He wakes up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep until it's in his hand again. He LOVES pizza!
Gavin, Mr. Meanie. I'm not even kidding you. He will come up and out of nowhere do something ornery, then smirk at you. Nothing phases that kid. He's sweet as can be but man! He's a handful! lol! He's into everything. We have to take Olivia's night light out of her wall when she's not home or else he's in there playing with it. He unrolls the toilet paper. Tries to play in the toilet. He throws things. He hits. He jumps off of things. I give him time outs. Lately I have been putting him in his crib when he misbehaves and that is starting to help out. He is going to outgrow Channing. I can see that happening. Gavin LOVES mashed potatoes! lol! I've never seen anything like it. He will even pick up his plate to lick it clean. When he seen Channing wasn't eating his, Gavin pointed and said, "More." He Loves playing in the dirt being outside. He loves cars and trucks and all the fun boy stuff. He follows channing around and they create trouble together. He sees that Channing takes a car to bed so Gavin will run into the room at bedtime and yell, "CAR CAR." then he picks one up and wants to sleep with it. He runs right to his crib, lifts his arms up in the air so I can put him into his bed! He still wakes up around the same time every night but after that he goes right back to sleep until about 9 am.
This past Monday for Labor day, Mom and I took the kids to Fall Fest in Delavan Illinois. We go there every year and the kids LOVE it! We watched the parade and got enough candy to last through Halloween. The kids rode rides and spent the day just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather! Channing got his face painted up like a Tiger and made front page of the Pekin times paper the next day! Olivia was going to get a butterfly on her face but then changed her mind saying she would be too embarrassed. Oh the things she comes up with! Mike was on call that day so he didn't join us.
