The kids all had Dental exams this past Monday. Gavin's first time ever in the Dental chair! Olivia and Channing went into rooms all by themselves and I stayed put with Gavin. I was able to walk back and forth to each room to see how they were all doing. Olivia has her first teeny tiny cavity on a back baby tooth. The Dentist said that it's just barely starting to form but they would like to fill it before it gets worse. They explained to Olivia that they were going to put her tooth to sleep so they could fix it. From now on around here, there will be more flossing! I am horrible at remembering to floss the kids' teeth.
Channing's visit went well. The Dentist said he has perfectly spaced teeth and therefore, will not need braces in the future *so far*. She said that his teeth looked great and this time he was actually able to get his mouth wide enough for them to take Xrays. Last time, he choked and gagged on it. He was so proud to show me the picture of his teeth! Channing also has his first loose tooth. The Dentist said it's just now starting to wiggle! Hard to believe.
Gavin's first dental experience was funny. He was very talkative to the Dental assistant. She was trying to count his teeth and it took her 3 tries before he finally stopped talking long enough for her to count! He has all of his teeth in and she said he has a deep overbite. when he smiles, all of his bottom teeth are hiding. When the Dentist came in, the first thing she said was, "Start saving money now bc Olivia and Gavin are for sure going to be seeing Orthodontists when they are older."
They did not do a cleaning on Gavin this time around. They said the first visit is usually for them to get used to the idea.
Gavin is also doing very well in his big boy underwear! The last of his diapers are out of the house! He has only had a few accidents at night but that is it, and the 2 times he peed the bed were because I had forgotten to get him up one last time in the middle of the night to go. Otherwise, he is doing awesome! It's hard to believe that our last baby is no longer a baby. For the past 6 years, I have been changing diapers.
This coming Saturday we are having Gavin's birthday party. On Monday, Gavin and Olivia will be going to the Dr for their yearly exams.
